1965 FORD FALCON
The Gift
This is our 1965 Ford Falcon Futura. It belonged to my grandmother who passed away a few years ago. The Falcon has sat in a garage since sometime in the early ‘80s. I have finally been able to convince my aunts and uncle to let me have the car. I planned on giving the car to my father for him to play with but he feels it would be better for me to keep it with me to restore.
It has its original drivetrain, a 200 c.i.d. I6 with a 3 speed manual transmission on the column.
I look forward to driving it to the local cruise-ins and possibly in the Battle of Flowers parade.
Below in the gallery is a picture of a completed factory 1965 Falcon. This is not the actual car I will be getting. The Falcon is currently hiding in a garage under many items. There are pictures below of it’s current hiding place. Once I get the actual car I will post pictures.
My plan is to try to restore it back to it’s original factory condition, not show concourse but for cruise-ins and such. I may try to add a turbo to the engine, but I will need to fabricate my own intake and exhaust manifolds. I think this might be fun.
I will add more pictures to the gallery as I can.
You will find updates on the blog page.
Leave me comments below and let me know what you think.
That’s all for now. Hope you had a good weekend, stay safe and wrench on kids.
