Welcome back to Pop’s Garage.
So as life likes to do, it is trying to get in the way of work. My wife has had to go to Michigan to see her grandmother before she passed. My wife will be gone until the beginning of February. Please pray for my wife’s family that they will have peace as they go through this difficult time.
This past week all the parts for the ‘03 Eclipse battery relocation project finally came in. All the brackets are made. I have cleaned the front wire harness and put new braided split cable loom on and re-installed the harness. The positive (+) cable from the battery (in the trunk) was run thru the firewall and connected to a new power distribution block.
This is the first major modification i have made the this car. My next mod will be in tuning the car. I want two different tunes. One that will save gas. The other will be to put as much power into the engine as i can. Once i have tackled this then i will start with adding a custom built intake. Then custom exhaust manifolds and finally a custom exhaust system. With this done i will work on the tune to allow for these mods.
I will be posting pictures to various social media sites so look out for them.
You will rarely find me speaking politically in this blog. I do feel that i need to speak up here… I enjoy racing. Lots of people do. Many people want to not just watch others race but join in the fun. There is currently an industry that allows us to modify a car to make it more suitable for track racing. There is a bill being submitted to congress to end the ability to modify factory built cars for this purpose. Below is a link to more information and a petition that can be signed if you feel this should not be passed… I won’t tell you what to do… but do think about the fact that if a bill like this is passed that many small and medium sized companies will be affected by it and thousands if individuals could lose their jobs...
